Snowed In

The Upper Midwest got dumped on this weekend! I’m guessing we got about 10 inches of snow so far.

Everything looks so beautiful, frosted in a thick layer of snow.

Now we have blizzard warnings because of the gusting winds and sub-zero temperatures.

The plow cleared our street and now there is a huge wall of snow at the end of our driveway. I’m sure it will take us awhile to clean off the driveway. Thanks goodness we have a snowblower! Good thing we went to the grocery store on Friday night instead of our usual Sunday morning field trip.

  1. gosh, i wish we got snow like that~snow at all would be great!
here where in live in arizona we get NONE. which some love, but there aren’t change of seasons and such.
christmas does not really feel like christmas, ya know?

  2. It looks beautiful (and very much like ours a week ago) – most of our snow has gone now…

Don’t envy the having to clear the drive but at least you have a snowblower lol :0)

    Have fun!

  3. Ohhhhh Burrrrrrrr Terri! Looks very pretty and lots of shoveling ahead! We had snow on the ground here for a few weeks now in Central Oregon.

But we have a storm system called the “Pineapple Express” hitting us now. The storm comes from Hawaii and it tracks a huge band of warm and very wet system at us. We lost most of our snow last night. Nice! (Though there is more snow in the forecast for next week…We love our snowblower too!)

    Have a cool Yule Terri!

  4. Honest to goodness that makes me shake a little. Like in fear. Seriously, I think you’d have to pull me out of a tragic little ball to do anything. Wow.

  5. It’s so gorgeous! I would love to be snowed in once in a while….it would be a great way to get caught up on things around the house…as long as you had power!

  6. It looks beautiful but I don’t really want it. The older I get the more I just love to look at it. I know we will get it sooner then later. Here we are just in the deep freeze, so if we have a little snow maybe it will feel a little warmer. Stay safe in all that white stuff, and warm

  7. Hello Terri,

Like everyone else I am waiting for a snowman to appear in one of your photo’s. Though if it is that cold I guess you would be inside with a hot drink.
    Happy snowman making!!!

  8. Looks like a wintery wonderland and so beautiful! Looking at your photo’s kind of makes me a little nostalgic, but I like our warm winters here. Best of all there’s no snow to shovel. I bet you’ll be skiing soon.

  9. Wow! You’ve gotten so much snow! It’s beautiful. I am crossing my fingers that you don’t get a blizzard. Stay warm and cozy inside.

This California girl was just planning a 3 hour road trip (at least) to take the kids to see the snow for the first time. They are 4 and 2. Hard to believe?!?

  10. I wish we had gotten that much! We got enough to make the roads a mess and if you have to go through that anyways, I’d always rather have snow piled on everything.

  11. Your photos make the snow look so pretty! I’m glad you got the snow and not us! It’s cold here too! Hopefully your driveway is cleared by now. Cold weather is good for staying inside and sewing. 🙂
