Ever have those moments when you are in between projects, in between vacations, in between adventures, in between progress? You spent a lot of time and energy working really hard to reach a goal, then that mission is accomplished. You’re feeling good about your efforts to make it to the next goal, yet you feel like you have so much to do, you don’t know where to start? I had one of those weeks.
We had a wonderful beach vacation last week.
Today I participated in the Jodi Lou Lung Cancer 5 mile run/8k walk benefit started for a young woman from my church who died recently. There were 300 people in the race – very uplifting and exhilarating. On Sunday, we are taking my aunt Madelon hiking on Sunday to celebrate her 70th birthday. Next weekend is her surprise birthday party when all the family will celebrate her wonderful life so far. And my brother will be here competing in his first triathlon, at which I will take pictures and cheer him on.
There’s a lot going with us these days, yet I’m having a hard time getting started again. I just finished my book for book club, which was so intense and good, but now I’m struggling to get into the next book on my pile. It seems interesting; I’m just not very motivated. My last completed craft project was the pillow covers, which I really love.
I have a list of projects I’m looking forward to making. I even wrote them out in my notebook with the fabric requirements in case I’m out and about and find the perfect match.
- Kimono Robe from Amy Butler’s In Stitches (my dilema is which fabric to use – there are SO many)
- Lounge Pants from the same book
- The Birdie Sling Bag kit I got from ruralFabric’s etsy shop
- The Laptop Cover kit I got from the same shop
- Barcelona Skirt by Amy Butler
- Cute Skirts by Favorite Things
- Many more projects from Amy Karol’s Bend-the-Rules-Sewing like the Simple Tote, a Valance for my sewing room and the kitchen
I also have a list of fabrics I’m excited to work with, but some of them aren’t available yet:
- Drawing Room by Anna Maria Horner (I do own some of this wonderful new home dec collection)
- Garden Party by Anna Maria Horner
- Pop Garden by Heather Bailey
- Farmer’s Market by Sandi Henderson
- Sugar Snap by Melissa Averinos
- August Fields by Amy Butler
I just can’t get myself started again. I know, I know, too many choices can really paralyze a girl (or break her bank)!
We finally planted our vegetable garden – about two weeks late. But it’s done now, so that’s some progress!
Maybe I’m just in the creative-inspiration-gathering mode these days.
